Let Him Drive

While growing up, I had fear for cars.
I do imagine how just one “non-living thing” can kill a living being.

The bad roads in Nigeria made my hatred for cars increase.
But all thanks to God, no more fear.

There was a particular day I was travelling with my friend back home. The bus got full.
As the driver was trying to get the bus moving on the road, it was as if the bus was tilting to the other side.

Funny enough, my friend and I were sitting in the front with the driver.
I was really afraid and started fidgeting. I clamped my hands and feet together as if I was the one in charge of the steering. I started imagining what would happen if the bus should slide back.

My friend wasn’t bothered. She was just laughing at me. She told me the bus can never slide that the driver is in control.

Exactly!!!

The driver was the one driving not me..

My fidgeting nor clamping of hands wouldn’t do anything even if the bus was to slide. Therefore, there’s nothing much I could have done.

That’s just what happens in the journey of lives. We are just passengers on earth while God is the driver.

He is the owner of life.

He is the owner of YOU.

He has all the power to drive to whatsoever direction He wills.

He can decide to either slow down or speed while driving.

He can decide to stop while driving.
Just let Him, never try to take over.

Have you ever been in a bus where the passengers were complaining about how slow the driver was driving but he doesn’t care?

Just like that, no matter the shouts&talks, God wouldn’t bulge because He is control.

As a student that has dutifully prepare for exams, while do you resort to malpractice if really you want God to fully be in charge?

As a bachelor/spinster praying for direction in marriage, while do you tends to make your own choice if really you want to be submissive to God’s will?

You need to be rich, yes, but must you be involved in dubious act to get rich?

The simple truth is to allow God fully in the bus of our life.

We need to stop dragging the position of being the driver with Him.
A bus can never have more than one driver. It can only be one.

As we launch into 2019, allow God be in charge. Let Him drive and you will surely get to your destination no matter how rough the journey might be, only LET HIM DRIVE!!!
