What Are You Grateful For?

Most times when we thank God, we do so on a general note.
You hear people say “thank you Lord for everything you have done” OR “Father, I just want to thank you“.
Why some say

“thank you” from the bottom of their hearts, others just say it out of thoughts of necessity or compulsion not because they really know what they should thank God for.

Have you ever sat down and think about some of those everything you thank God about. You will then understand better what it means to be thankful.

I think we need to be specific when we appreciate God.
Thank Him for that accident you escaped.
Thank Him for that expensive handbag He provided for you.

I once heard of a particular story of someone that couldn’t sleep for 11 months. It looked so much of a fable but do you know that there are people that suffer greatly from sleeplessness. Some people depend on drugs and injections in order to sleep.

Do you know that the fact that you feel sleepy now and 3 seconds after, you’re already in the dreamland is worth thanking God for.

About two months ago, I was having serious constipation. For more than a week, I couldn’t defecate. Normally, I’m someone that defecate every blessed day. In fact, I do more than once on some days.

But all of a sudden, it became very difficult for me to defecate. At first, it was like play like play until it got serious.

Anytime I try defecating, it was always painful. At a point, I started defecating blood. It was that serious.

Then, a day came and I was in the toilet for more than 30 minutes.
I went back to my room and took about 2 sachets of water. It was indeed tug of war.

To cut the story short, I had to get a liquid drug called “Liquid paraffin”.

When you have constipation and you use about 4 tablespoon, your system ought to be back to normal. But No, I finished the whole bottle and the situation still persist.
I was like, really? I can’t even get another bottle of this drug anymore.

I changed my diet and started taking some specific plants.

It was until then I understood the importance of being able to defecate well.
That alone is worth thanking God for over and over again.

You need to see how happy I am these days whenever I feel the urge to defecate. At times, I will run smiling to the toilet.

Do you know some people can’t fart or defecate like some people do and that’s a very great health challenge?

Dear, you need to start cultivating the habits of thanking God for every single thing He has done in your life.
Not just because you’re alive but because you’re alive, hale and hearty.

Even if you can’t remember some things, thank Him for those ones you can remember of.

You bought a laptop, new clothes, shoes, bags, etc.
You were healed of chicken pox, Apollo, typhoid, malaria, etc.
You fell down and you didn’t break your bones.
You ate but wasn’t poisoned. Even if you were poisoned, you didn’t die.
Even if you had an accident, you still survived.
Even when you failed, you still rose.
Even if you’re presently sick, you’re still alive.
The fact you’re reading this post alone, be thankful for that.

Don’t just be thankful because this is the end of the year but be thankful now and always

Cultivate an habit of gratitude. Be grateful.

That being said, never forget the lessons you’ve learnt so far in 2018. Don’t also forget to get better in 2019. Let 2019 be the best year you’ve ever lived.
Have plans.
Set goals.
Be determined.
Never give up.
Grow in every area.
Most importantly, get closer to God.

As we enter 2019, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us and forever more. Amen.
