I jumped up from my bed as I heard people screaming and shouting.
“What is happening here”, I thought within myself as I struggled to open my eyes.

“Sleepy sleepy, stand up lazy girl. Won’t you go to church today”, I heard someone said.

What!!!

Immediately, my eyes got widened.
I looked around and remembered being a University student. That means, no more mummy waking me up early to prepare for church.

I stood up immediately from my bed and began to prepare for church service as my other roommates were almost done.

“Seems you really enjoyed your first sleep in school”, Sharon said.

I smiled within and gave her an affirmative nod.

“Phew, as for me, I didn’t enjoy my sleep at all. Mosquitoes were just hovering over my head. Besides, I really miss my room at home”, Tobifunmi lamented while the other girls giggled.

“You will soon get adjusted to the new environment, it’s just a matter of time. And you can always make use of your mosquito net”, I replied.

30 minutes later, we were ready for church. Even though we attend different churches at home, we decided to be attending the same fellowship in school.

The service was awesome and power packed starting from the worship session to the prayers and pastor’s sermon.

The pastor talked extensively on living a purposeful life on campus and being focused.
He gave illustrations concerning different people that had passed through the University before and what became of them. The sermon brought tears to my eyes. I prayed silently and made commitment to put in my best and come out excellently well.

The following day was the first official school day as a student. We woke up early and marched down to our various departments.

The first week of academic works was rigorous and fun filled at the same time.
It was nice meeting with different calibres of people.
Making new friends was also interesting.

I began to hear names I’ve never heard before.
I come from a place where people bear majorly Yoruba names like Asake, Kikelomo, Ifeoluwa, Akanji, etc 😁😁😁
But coming to school made me see people with names like Signs and wonders, Anointing, Humble, Amazing, etc 😃

By Wednesday of that first week, I was already looking forward for weekend to come.
I just needed rest from all the numerous activities that I’ve been passing through. I haven’t ever been subjected to so much stress in my life.

Whoooops, a week has passed since I got to this new world of mine.

It was on Saturday morning and I decided to wash my clothes and tidy up my corner.

Bukola had gone out with a 300level boy named Femi who is a colleague in her department.
I and Titofunmi were strongly against the idea of her following someone she barely knows to a place but she was furious and was bent on not changing her mind.
Titofunmi had gone to the market while Sharon was busy watching a Korean movie on her laptop.

As I stepped out of the room to spread my clothes outside, I suddenly heard Sharon screamed with a loud excruciating pain.

The bucket I was carrying fell with a loud thud and I ran with back speedily into the room.

I entered only to find Sharon lying helplessly on the floor..

“Shaaaaaaron!!!!”, I shouted with all the strength within me.

Watch out for episode 3
