…The Second Chance…

It was the end of the 1st term and everyone was eager to know his/her results. I was in SSS 2 at that time. I waited nervously for the day to collect my report card. I knew I didn’t prepare well for the exams and

was eager to know my fate.

When I got my report card and opened, alas, I came 3rd.
Immediately, my eyes became teary. How I would face my parents, I thought!
I was on 1st position the previous term and what I dropped.

I got home dejectedly expecting some form of rebuke from my parents. When my mum opened the report sheet, she didn’t talk. She was just perusing through the report sheet while I was busying shedding tears.
My dad entered and asked what the problem was. My mum showed him the report sheet and all he could say was that I should get him his food
What! I was surprised.
My dad wasn’t bothered…. I felt he was probably overly angry.
Later in the day, he called me and asked why I was crying.
“You don’t have to cry my daughter; you just have to keep trying your best”. Trust me, I felt better and determined to study my books more.
It took me extra efforts the following term to study. At the end, I came 2nd.
I never believed I could again.

I made use of another opportunity to work better on myself.
Failure at the first spurred me to make use of me second chance well.

There is this statement I heard recently from a friend that says “God is a God of second chance”.
I had to ponder over the statement over and over again.

You know what the statement is saying, it means God gives another chance to TRY AGAIN.
And the truth is when someone’s being advised to try again, such a one must have probably made a mistake or fallen/failed in one thing or the other.

In life, we all experience failure at one point or the other. Nevertheless, we need to rise above our failures.

When you meet successful pastors, businessmen(wom
en), scholars, etc, they won’t definitely talk about their success stories without talking about times they fall or fail. But if they had given up while they fell/failed, they wouldn’t have reached the point they are today.
Also, remember whatever situation you find yourself is meant to strengthen you and make you better.
Imagine someone that fall(fail) once will be more conscious of not falling again.
Yes, failing shouldn’t define you, rather, make positive construction out of it.
Even when you fall physically and got badly injured, do you just leave the wound unclean?. Of Course No…
You try to clean up when necessary or even take drugs/injections if worse.
The wound might even get worse if not treated urgently/well.

Exactly what you should do when you fall in any aspects of your life. A times, it might not be easy. Yes, it may come with much pains & injuries, don’t hesitate to find solutions.
There are times when you fall(fail), all you could is to stand quickly, smile and move on.
There are also times you fall and will have to cry profusely.
But remember, you shouldn’t be on the spot of your falling forever.

Did you just fall into that sin again, try to rise again by seeking for God’s help. You can sure live a righteous life.
Did you fail academically, try to study again and not give up.
Did you just lose a job, try applying for another and do not lose hope.

Whatever the situation, simply rise up and TRY AGAIN because God has given you a SECOND CHANCE.

Do you have any opinion, contribution or suggestion about having a second chance. Do leave a comment below. You can  share this post with anyone who would be blessed by this.
