Your Health : Do You Care?

The popular and common thoughts about health is the state of being free from illness or injury.

When you tell someone you have a health challenge ,the person will simply think you are sick in the body.

But No, health goes beyond

that. Health is not just the absence of disease but a state of overall wellbeing.
I was thought in integrated science that Health can be defined as physical, mental, and social well-being. I will partially disagree because health encompasses more than physical, mental and social well being alone .

There are various types of healthy but Mental and Physical health are the two most commonly discussed types of health. We also have about “spiritual health,” “emotional health,” and “financial health,” “social health, ” among others.

But the salient truth is when one is emotionally, financially&spiritually healthy ,such a one will be physically and mentally fit.


Factors for good health include
1)Genetics: This is most applicable to physical health.

2)Environment: This best applies to physical, social and financial health. Someone living in a dirty environment will surely have diseases.

Someone who lives in a more remote area might not be buoyant to expectation.

Someone living in a secluded area might live in loneliness for life. Loneliness a times poses threat on individual’s health .

3)Relationships: How cordial one’s relationship is with others determine the state of the individual’s life. A friendly person tends to have people around to share his/her problem with. This gives a relief in the life of such a one.

4)Behaviour: Our attitude towards our well being also matters a lot. One should not do just anything that tamper with his/her health.
When someone doesn’t brush his /her teeth for a week, you will be sure the person is injury his/her health.

When someone finds it difficult to forgive his fellow brethren, it leads to malice and undue anger can even pose danger to the physical health.

5)Culture: The traditions and customs of a society and a family’s response to them can have a good or bad impact on health.

6) Education: This goes a long way in every aspect of health. An adage says “Be informed so as not to be deformed“. Someone that is well educated on a particular disease will know how to combat against such disease.

An individual that is well educated on how to relate with people will be more healthy socially

A person who is educated concerning finances will be financially buoyant .This goes on for all other types of health.

Challenges with health comes in different forms

*Physical health challenges comes with various diseases like Hypertension, malaria, cough, etc

*Emotional health challenges comes in form of depression ,fear and loss of peace.

*Social health challenges comes in form of low self esteem, inferiority complex,discrimiation,etc

*Financial health challenge comes in form of poverty

*Social health challenge comes in form of rejection, betrayal, etc

*And Mental health depends on all the aforementioned.

*When your spiritual life is on the crash, it affects every other aspects of your health as well. How do you pray to God for financial breakthrough, emotional stability, physical health, etc when you are not spiritually healthy?

Each aspect of health is interrelated. Financial challenge can lead to emotional distress. Emotional distress can lead to physical disability or social challenge. Physical challenges can also lead to social and spiritual challenges .

We have established the fact that health doesn’t deal only with the physical but whole being therefore the only and best way to maintain health is to preserve it through a healthful lifestyle.

1) Maintain a balanced & nutritious diet regime sourced as naturally as possible

2) Exercise regularly

3) Learn to manage stress

4) Engage in activities that provide purpose and connection to others

5) Practice good hygiene

6) Build your confidence

7) Seek for opportunities to be happy always

8) Be positive

9) Build your relationships with others

10) Strive to acquire knowledge

11)Exhibit a good lifestyle

12)Consult your counsellor and doctor when necessary 

13) Smile always and worry less 

14) Don’t forget the place of God and prayers 

How far you can go in life depends on how healthy you are
